Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to use the site, read, learn and register, regardless of disability.

Accessibility level of the site

The site aims to meet the requirements of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility Adjustments for Service) Regulations, 5773-2013, and of Israeli Standard SI 5568 (based on the WCAG 2.0) at level AA.

The site has undergone automated testing with the axe-core tool and partial manual testing of keyboard navigation. No external accessibility audit and no full screen reader testing have been carried out yet. Therefore, we do not declare full compliance with the standard. If you have run into any difficulty, we would be glad if you let us know (details further down this page).

What we have done to make the site accessible

  • A clear structure: one main heading on every page, subheadings in order, and marked regions (site header, menu, main content, footer).
  • A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
  • Full keyboard navigation, with a prominent focus indicator that is visible on both light and dark backgrounds.
  • Alternative text for content images. Decorative images are marked so that screen readers skip them.
  • Color contrast of at least 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for interface components.
  • Tap targets of at least 44 pixels on phones.
  • Forms with a label for every field, and error messages that are attached to the field and read aloud.
  • Pop-up windows and menus that close with the Esc, and focus does not escape them.
  • The audio reading player on the book page: labeled buttons, reading speed, and keyboard control.
  • The site respects the operating system’s “reduce motion” and “increase contrast” settings.
  • The page language is set to English, left to right, and passages in Hebrew are marked as Hebrew.

The accessibility menu

In the corner of the screen there is an “Accessibility menu” button. It can also be opened from the keyboard. The menu allows:

  • Enlarging and reducing text up to 200%.
  • High contrast, inverted contrast (dark background) and grayscale.
  • Highlighting links and highlighting headings.
  • A clear, sans-serif font with more space between lines and letters.
  • Stopping animations and motion.
  • A large mouse cursor, hiding background images, and a single-column reading mode.
  • Resetting all settings.

The settings are saved in your browser only. The menu is an add-on: accessibility itself is built into the site’s code, and it does not rely on an external service.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts are not yet fully accessible. We are working to fix them:

  • Video recordings of evenings and seminars: Most recordings do not yet have captions or a transcript.
  • Podcast episodes and book readings: There is no written transcript yet.
  • Images in articles: Most images in older articles were uploaded without a description. In such cases, a general description based on the article title is shown, which does not describe the image itself.
  • Browsers: Testing was done in Chrome. The site has not yet been systematically tested in Safari and Firefox.
  • Third-party services: The checkout and payment process (Wix), the course viewing site (the Academy, LearnWorlds), embedded players (YouTube, Spotify) and registration for the Tel Aviv retreat (on an external website) are not fully under our control, and their accessibility depends on the provider.
  • Content from the old system: Some formatting in articles (tables, text colors) is displayed as originally entered.
  • Screen readers: The site has not yet been fully tested with VoiceOver, NVDA or TalkBack.

Events, evenings and retreats

Before coming to an event, evening or retreat, you can contact us to ask about the accessibility arrangements at the venue (access, parking, seating, accessible restrooms) and request an accommodation. We will do our best to respond to every request.

Accessibility inquiries
